This private website for Chinquapin owners went live in September 2022. Owners had previously identified a need for a private directory for their neighbors. Prior to the website going live, communication among owners was organized by a few homeowners, and emails were generated from Martha Dobson's personal email address. Over time, that list of owners grew to about 322 recipients, and the only way to reliably deliver them without getting caught in spam was to create 14 email groups of about 20-25 each. As you can imagine, that became unwieldy.
Another reason the website was established was to connect owners and develop relationships to facilitate the move from a developer-led HOA to an owner-led HOA. This discussion was started by the developer in late 2021. The website can become a tool for the owner-led HOA, when that occurs, and it archives information. Owners don't have to search emails to find information on certain topics, or for documents. It's on the website.

Martha Dobson and Val Talley are the administrators for the website, and they update the owner directory. When an owner-led HOA is established, the website will be transferred to it. The Waterfront Group and Chinquapin LLC and staff (contact info is on this website under Owner Resources) are still responsible for the management of the neighborhood, and their communications are separate from this website.
Since the website went live, a lot of new owners in the neighborhood have come on board, and there's 18 months of info to catch up on. All the past blog articles and Catching Up posts are housed under the News & Updates tab. Advisory Committee Reports, an owner survey results, Chinquapin architectural covenants, and other reports are under the Owner Resources tab. The Maps & Trails tab is good to consult before starting your hike. Remember that Chinquapin borders a nature conservancy with its own regulations, and it disallows motorized vehicles on almost all trails.
