Chinquapin HOA, Inc. is a corporation, and our amenities are considered common areas, not private property, and therefore are subject to North Carolina ABC laws. The Board is currently evaluating which permits and policies will best serve our community long-term.
For our upcoming May 23rd event, alcohol service will operate under a Special Occasion One-Time Permit issued to the HOA President for a host-sponsored bar. As required, the permit will be posted at each bar location during the event.
Important Information Regarding Alcohol Service
- Beer and wine may generally be served on HOA premises without a permit, provided all applicable laws regarding control and consumption are followed and the HOA maintains an approved policy governing beer and wine consumption.
- Spirituous liquor and fortified wine require a valid NC ABC permit. These beverages may not be kept or consumed on HOA property without an approved permit. We have obtained the appropriate permit for the May 23rd event, and the Board will determine the appropriate permitting structure for future events.
Event Guidelines for May 23rd
To ensure compliance with NC ABC regulations and promote a safe, enjoyable event for all attendees:
- No alcohol may be served to anyone under 21 years of age.
- Bartenders must be properly trained/certified.
- Guest self-service of alcohol is not permitted.
- Guests may not bring outside alcohol to the event.
- Alcohol consumption is permitted only within designated areas. For this event, approved areas include the Outpost and surrounding grounds, specifically excluding the Driving Range, Playground, and Parking Areas.
Our Social Committee has worked incredibly hard to make this year’s kickoff party better than ever, including enhanced food and beverage offerings. We hope you’ll agree—it’s wonderful to be back at Chinquapin celebrating the start of another great season together.
We welcome your feedback and ideas on how we can continue improving future events.
Please note: our recent bourbon tasting and barrel pick event was conducted under Southern Grace Distilleries’ permit.
