Focused List of Improvements Underway

When property owners return this spring, they’ll see steady progress across the community. In addition to the 2026 landscaping and grounds projects previously announced, we’re moving forward with a focused list of improvements:

  • Upgrades have been initiated at the Post Office, including installation of door locks, improved lighting, and surveillance systems, with additional protective measures under evaluation.

  • An engineering firm has been engaged to assist Chinquapin in achieving compliance with North Carolina DEQ requirements for Wolf Lake dam protection.

  • Road drainage improvements have been completed in several areas, and a phased road shoulder enhancement program has begun. Recommendations have also been developed and initiated to support beautification efforts at the Cow Mountain log yard.

  • Guidance has been established to standardize water tap installations for new home construction to reduce future water leaks and improve long-term system reliability.

  • Recommendations have been advanced toward completion of the community well water system, alongside continued compliance with state-mandated drinking water quality requirements.

  • Work is underway to evaluate and improve community access to all gates and amenities, with the goal of enhancing usability, consistency, and overall resident experience.

  • The winter season is being actively utilized for planning and preparation of seasonal grounds support and upcoming infrastructure work, including engineering evaluation and redecking the three New Settlers traffic bridges, continued road shoulder maintenance, and ongoing beautification of the Chinquapin grounds.

  • New furniture for The Outpost is under evaluation; a spring power washing project is scheduled, as is the repair of the workout facility floor.

Our Operations team remains committed to maintaining and enhancing the places we all enjoy. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the community.
