No Power, No Water Update and Info 12.26.2022

This information has been on the CHOA WhatsApp group starting 12.23.22 when the neighborhood and surrounding areas lost power in those sustained, cold, cold temperatures. Power was restored, for the most part, late afternoon 12.25.22. Owners who were there in Chinquapin noticed water issues Saturday morning, 12.24.22, and at this moment on 12.26.22, it remains off.

Lucas, head of maintenance, has been working all weekend regarding the water situation; repairs will have to be made by the water management company, RPB Systems, that the Waterfront Group uses for Chinquapin. Also, Lucas had to turn off water to some houses in Nature’s Walk and, if one of them was yours, it will be in your best interests to let him turn it back on because he can tell if there’s a leak if the meter starts spinning.
According to the comments on the WhatsApp group, Lucas and a couple of owners contacted RPB Systems, the water management company, by email or phone on Saturday and Sunday.
If you rent your home, contact your rental management company to inform it of the situation and to inform upcoming renters of the multiple water issues. Homes in Nature’s Walk may have water now, but only because gravity causes them to receive the water left in the lines.
The most recent info on WhatsApp says that RPB is coming today, the 26th, to assess the situation.
Keep in mind that repairs may be delayed if the company needs parts, etc. that aren’t on hand or need to be ordered or the repair requires more time.
If your water wasn’t shut off at the point where it comes into your house, there likely are frozen and burst pipes due to the cold, the long period of no electricity, and if your home doesn’t have a generator.
