Website log in hint--If you're already logged in to the site and try to log in again, you will get an endless CAPTCHA loop. Check the upper right corner of the home page to see if you are logged in.

Improve receiving website emails--Subscribe to the website. Most of us are not subscribed. The Wix support folks identify subscribing as the top action to improve getting emails in inboxes.

SUBSCRIBE to the website--Please do this process promptly. Go to www.chinquapinowners.com. Log in if you are not already logged in. Click on yourself in the upper right corner. Click My Account. Click Settings. Click the Subscribe button. That's it, you're done. Thank you!

Mailchimp & general emails from Rhonda--Rhonda has at least 2 email groups, Mailchimp for the parties/social events and a separate group for all the other sorts of emails--gate codes, announcements, things to be aware of, etc. Rhonda's lists are independent of this website's email list. If you get party emails, but not the other kind of email, or vice versa, the first step is to contact Rhonda to confirm your email address is on the lists and is correct. rlekan@chinquapinnc.com Rhonda joined as an employee this spring and inherited the email lists/groups.

Email delivery issues--Rhonda notices that comcast.net email addresses often bounce back. The error message indicates the server won't deliver the email. That's probably because the server "sees" the email is in a large email group, and that is suspicious to the server. This is being looked into to see if there's a sender issue. I've noticed that Outlook email addresses may not go through, due to its security/settings levels. Mailchimp has a feature that delivers its emails in smaller groups at different times so that your servers don't think it's spam from a huge email group. That's why people get them at different times. This website's notifications may also arrive over a period of 24 hours.

Reminders--The Outpost door code has changed, and Rhonda emailed its code September 29---3019. Put it in your phone notes along with the gate codes for reference. Rhonda reminds owners that the Outpost is for owners' use and people renting properties are not to have the code. An updated directory is on the website; check your information for accuracy & contact Val Talley at vhtalley@gmail.com if it needs updating. The Owner Resources tab on the website has the after hours number, contact information for employees and utilities, and the Trading Post phone number. That tab has lots of helpful info--winterizing your house, medical resources, law enforcement, a restaurant list, services and the Calendar.

Winterize your house before October ends. Set heat to a low temperature; turn off water at the house, not the street; close foundation vents; unscrew hoses from outside faucets; open under sink cabinet doors to allow heat to reach those pipes; consider putting a water usage monitor on pipes under the house-if a leak occurs (broken pipe) that system can notify you. If you're in your house and it's really cold outside, open those under sink doors and drip faucets to keep water moving. If a pipe freezes, open the taps & use a hair dryer or light bulb turned on to gently warm it.
