Landscaping for the Season has Begun - and Look Who's Back!
We are pleased to announce that our flower specialist, Kim, will remain part of our landscaping efforts in 2026. We have all witnessed Kim work magic with the flowers over the last few years. She and her dogs have become ubiquitous, a welcome sight as she adds colorful and beautiful flowers throughout the neighborhood. Our new landscape team will partner with Kim to ensure our seasonal flowers and plantings continue to enhance the beauty of our community.
And speaking of our new landscape team ... After carefully evaluating four firms, the Board has selected a new landscaping provider to service our community. Seasonal landscaping services began February 25. The decision on this firm was made with a focus on quality, reliability, and long-term care of our entrance and common areas. Four Chinquapin Summer Party/Concerts ranging from rock to beach music to bluegrass are on tap this season. Enjoy them on May 23, July 5, September 5, and October 17. Check out band details on the Chinquapin Party/Concert post dated 2.23.2026. Owner Resources, Calendar.
Owner website www.chinquapinowners.com. The repository for Chinquapin information, blog posts, photos, HOA documents and minutes, surveys, reports and the place to find the gate codes, important email addresses, the directory, a restaurant listing, maps and trails, local medical and emergency, and services recommendations (Owner Resources, Stuff You Need to Know). It's always there. Click here for an information list to download and print.
Gate Codes, always a key topic! The usual code emails are not going out because the codes remain unchanged pending gate system updates. Find the codes here under Owner Resources, or here:

It's bear time! Bearwise.org is an educational program about reducing bear problems and how people help in reducing these problems. A couple of years ago, we had a very interesting in-person presentation at Chinquapin. Click for Dogs & Bears; Birds & Bears; Bears & People Outdoors; Bears & People at Home.
NOTE: Bear spray is not to be sprayed on people. It's used to spray a bear under necessary circumstances. Find a YouTube video to learn how to use bear spray.

Chinquapin donates to the Fishes and Loaves Pantry. At the February bourbon pick event, guests were invited to support this local effort to alleviate hunger in our area. Neighbors brought paper goods, and toiletries, all necessary, daily items not covered by SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), and food. Thank you for the donations.
The pantry is located on Frank Allen Road, behind the Cashiers Glenville Fire Department. A donation box is on its porch.
