Four Chinquapin Summer Party/Concerts have been set for 2026, starting with the Memorial Day weekend and wrapping up in the heart of leaf-peeping season with an October 17th finale.
We have three popular returning acts and one rising Bluegrass band from the Cashiers area set to take the Chinquapin stage this summer.
Watch this space for more information on these parties and bands from Vicki Barnett, Chair of the Chinquapin Social Committee that developed this summer's events.
The dates and bands:
Saturday, May 23: Dillon Brown & Company returns with your favorite Country, Rock, and Rhythm and Blues songs to kick off the summer series on Memorial Day Weekend. From the Dillon Brown & Company Facebook page: "A Big Man and his Friends perform music that will make you chuckle, tussle, and tighten your buckle. We throw Country, Rock, and Rhythm and Blues at you at the speed of sound."
Sunday, July 5: Corey Stevenson Band from Greenville, SC, makes the quick trip north to rock the Chinquapin stage once again to close out the July 4 Weekend with a mix of original songs and classic Rock-N-Roll and Southern rock covers. They released their latest single, "Light That Lives in the Dark," last November.
Saturday, September 5: Phatt City Band is a long-running band from Mount Airy, NC, that was formed in 1972 and is now in its fourth generation with some of the original members still involved! This nine-piece group is making a return appearance at Chinquapin to help us celebrate the Labor Day Weekend. With a dynamite horn section and three (three!) lead singers, they play a mix of Beach Music, R&B, Motown, and dance tunes. Think Chicago or Earth, Wind & Fire.
Saturday, October 17: Young Mountain Magic will be new to Chinquapin but has built a strong following on the Plateau over the last several years with a blend of traditional Bluegrass, old-time, and Folk Music, specializing in tunes rooted in the Appalachian region. They definitely bring a youthful enthusiasm to their performances, since the quartet of musical prodigies from the Cashiers area are all still teenagers!
